Engineering Support is aimed at achieving seamless integration of production processes and reducing complexity, making optimal use of the available capacities of Blok Group, its experience and worldwide network.
By cooperating with customers at an early stage in product development Blok Group is able to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership. This is also accomplished by offering Value Engineering during the entire product life cycle.
Production
Blok Group is specialized in the fully automatic machining of critical production components. Client-specific mass-production takes place is two ultramodern machine engineering plants. Both the factories and the measuring rooms have been fully climatized. Blok Group offers its services to both local clients and multinationals.
Using mainly high-grade 5-axle CNC turning and milling machines. Blok Group is well-equipped for the production and supply of ready-to-install components. This includes Supply Chain Management of raw materials, special processes and the delivery of complete compounds. The product range varies from small precision compounds to large structural units, always meeting the stringent requirements of the customers.
Blok Group delivers traceable, high-quality repeatable products, which makes it a reliable single source supplier.
Blok Group Production frequently uses CNC techniques (Computer Numerical Control) with pre-programmed computers controlling the machining processes. The engineers of Blok Group have specialized in (pre-) programming and simulating the machine.
State-of-the-art CAD/CAM and CMM software is being used in production for reading and creating 3D CAD models, CNC and measuring programs. Machining is done in robotized production cells using the latest in advanced robot technology. This enables Blok Group to produce around the clock.
Casting
Blok Group has extensive knowledge and experience in the machining of castings, largely owing to the acquisition of the Alkmaarsche IJzer- en Metaalgieterij (later NMA). NMA has been a producer of castings since 1879, so that Blok Group’s expertise in this field is unquestionable.
Blok Group have specialized in machining and supplying iron, steel, RVS and aluminium castings. Re-engineering castings is a recently added specialization of Blok Group, which makes it possible to produce the current castings more (cost-) effectively.
Welding
Welding is a complex process in which the interaction of several essential variables determines the quality of a weld. Blok Group’s staff has extensive knowledge and experience in welding.
Blok Group employs specialists in various types of welding processes, including MIG / MAG, TIG and autogenous welding.

Surface treatments
Surface treatment of metals is meant to increase resistance to wear, decrease frictional resistance and to have the product comply with certain aesthetic requirements. Surface treatment changes the properties of the surface. Blok Group provides the following treatment techniques:

Assembly
Blok Group specializes in mechanical and electronic assembly and builds subassemblies, fully tested systems and machines. In addition, assemblies are tested, packaged and labelled.
In other words, Blok Assembly provides for the entire supply chain.
Industrial Services
The Blok Group Service Division produces revolving parts to a maximum of 2,000 mm round and 6,000 mm long. The maximum dimensions for milling machines are 5,000 mm x 1,500 mm.
Blok Group can process weights to a maximum of 20 tonnes. Industrial Services specializes in hydraulics, repair, revision and moving mechanisms (curve discs and cylinder cams).

The Project Manager is the contact person for both the client and the internal organization. This enables Blok Group to manage, monitor and complete projects on the agreed terms and conditions.
